Music Hubs

Music & Vocal Lessons for ages 6-18

GROUP INSTRUMENTAL AND VOCAL TUITION.

Music Generation Galway County is a publicly supported Performance Music Education service for children and young people across Galway County that provides opportunities for children and young people to access a range of high quality, subsidised vocal and instrumental tuition in their local area. Music Generation Galway County is managed and funded locally by Galway and Roscommon Education and Training Board in partnership with Galway County Council together with a number of other local and national partners.
In addition to its large-scale provision within educational settings across Galway County (i.e. Pre-Schools, Primary Schools, Post-Primary Schools, Youthreach Centres), Music Generation facilitates instrumental and vocal tuition in multiple out-of-school contexts. This includes at a variety of Music Hubs (occurring after school) within local communities across Galway.

Our Music Hubs are currently based in Clifden, Ballinasloe, Clonbur, Headford-Caherlistrane, Leenaun, Tuam & Kinvara. In April 2023 Loughrea, Glenmaddy, Inisbofin and Gort Music Hubs will also begin. All of our hubs offer affordable weekly music lessons to young learners aged 6 to 18 years. Tuition is delivered by Music Generation Galway County’s talented and highly-trained Musician Educators.
These Music Hubs act as a creative space where young people can play together, develop their musical talents and perform!

We offer tuition across different genres (i.e. Rock/Pop/HipHop/Classical/Jazz/World/Trad & more) and different instruments (i.e. guitar (acoustic/electric/bass), ukulele, keyboard, piano, drums, percussion, strings, brass, dj skills, music technology & more) while we also offer vocal tuition at our Hubs! The choice of instrumentation and genres offered differs from one Music Hub to another depending on interest levels and the availability of both the Musician Educators and the venue.

Parents/Guardians of those who are interested in taking part should fill out the Enrolment Agreement below. Details on tuition fees and instrument rental fees are available at the link also.

Galway County Music Hub

Why not play with the County Team?!

In addition to facilitating access to performance music education for children and young people, we are also keen to provide pathways to development for young learners. Children and young people who demonstrate ability and commitment at our local Hubs are offered the option (by referral and at no cost) to attend our Galway County Music Hub each month where they will meet and ‘jam’ with other like-minded young performers from around the county.

Occurs Saturdays/Monthly: @Ballinfoile Castlegar Neighbourhood Centre (H91 PN50)
