Ceolfhoireann nua don aos óg in iarthar na hÉireann is ea Symphonic Waves, ar tionscadal é a fhéachann le ceoltóirí óga a spreagadh chun a lánacmhainneacht ceoil a bhaint amach.
Tabharfaidh Symphonic Waves deis do cheoltóirí óga an réigiúin a mbuanna ceoil a chur ar taispeáint agus soláthróidh sé oideachas ceoil atá bunaithe ar an stáitse. Tá sé mar aidhm ag Symphonic Waves spreagadh a thabhairt do cheoltóirí óga a bhféiniúlachtaí ceoil féin a fhorbairt trí chaidreamh le ceoltóirí gairmiúla agus comhoibriú le comhghleacaithe ó cheolfhoirne na n-óg eile in Éirinn agus thar lear.
Tá Symphonic Waves á maoiniú ag Gaillimh 2020, faigheann sé tacaíocht ó Chomhairle Chontae na Gaillimhe agus tá sé á bhainistiú ag Music Generation Chontae na Gaillimhe.
Symphonic Waves is an exciting new youth orchestra for the West of Ireland, inspiring young musicians to achieve their highest musical potential.
Showcasing the wealth of musical talent in the region, Symphonic Waves will provide a legacy of sustainable, performance-based education for young musicians on Ireland’s western seaboard. Symphonic Waves aims to encourage young musicians to develop their own musical identities through interactions with professional musicians and collaboration with peers from other youth orchestras in Ireland and abroad.
Symphonic Waves is funded by Galway 2020 with support from Galway County Council and managed by Music Generation Galway County.
